The Friedberg public utilities in Hessen have had an SAE telecontrol and process control system in operation since 1998 which is used primarily to monitor and control water reservoirs, shafts, underground wells and gas transfer and regulation stations.
In 2015, the Friedberg public utilities contracted us to modernise, optimise and simultaneously extend the ageing telecontrol system. The modernisation scheme was simplifi ed by the fact that SAE telecontrol components have a certain degree of backward compatibility and older components can often continue to be used in new systems. That means that complete replacement of the hardware is not required and the financial outlay is substantially reduced.
